Hello and welcome to Remek!

Whether you’re just starting out or you have already had your first bruises and victories on the markets, below you will find what we hope to be useful pointers to help you on your journey of becoming a professional technically motivated directional trader.

But first, let’s define the term technically motivated directional trader (see insert below, to the right), which is what we all are here. Found it? Cool, let’s move on!

The software environment

• We trade on Windows (10 or 11) and the Ninjatrader platform. Microsoft Windows needs no introduction. We use the Ninjatrader software application to trade the markets. We know there are other excellent platforms out there, and some of them we know well, perhaps we even use them. But here, we work on Ninjatrader, and the latest release of it. So make sure you’re up to date!

• Now, we must state the obvious: today trading is done on computers. For us, that means Windows and NT8 (and our own products, more about those later). Make sure your computer (hardware and software) environment is well-maintained and ready for what you want to do. Your Windows environment (including the appropriate safety and privacy protocols and backup processes) should be correctly set up and maintained, your Ninjatrader software environment should also be correctly set up and maintained, and you should have a fast and stable internet connection. And needless to say, you must know your way around Windows as well as NT8. Ok, let’s move on!

• The Ninjatrader trading platform allows you to trade various asset classes: futures, stocks, ETFs, currencies, just make sure the markets you want to trade are included in your datafeed. The datafeed is the data connection to the market you want to trade. We have several options, when it comes to datafeeds depending on your geographic location, and asset classes and/or markets traded, etc. Ninjatrader has its own datafeed service, and you can also use several third party providers that work with Ninjatrader. Do a little research to pick the one that best fits your needs.

• Last but not least: you’ll need a trading account with a brokerage. Typically, you’d open that with a broker. Note that Ninjatrader has its own brokerage, but third party brokerage accounts can also be connected to the Ninjatrader trading platform. Do your research: having the best possible broker (in terms of fees and service, as well as reliability) is paramount.

• Whatever your experience level, trading is a lifelong learning process. And the best place to get the education you need is on our website.

• In this business, you’ll also need capital. Risk capital. Meaning, capital you don’t need. How much of it you’ll need, you’ll need to calculate, and we can help you with that too. Do not treat this step lightly, and do not ever bet the farm.

b) we also have strategies. Strategies in Ninjatrader language simply mean that these are products that both put information on charts and also trade. Enter trades, manage trades, exit trades, all based on predefined rules. Our suite of strategies we call The Remek! Momentum Pro Standalones are unique in more than one ways:

- first, we trade with our Standalones the only thing that matters for us technically motivated directional traders: patterns in crowd behaviour. (Patterns in crowd behaviour are deeply rooted in human psychology, going back tens of thousands of years, and exploiting them offers the best chance of success in the markets.)
- second, we choose to trade the most reliable pattern, the re-emergence of momentum out of consolidation areas. We’ll say a lot about that as we move forward.
- third, we’ve found ways to code this aspect of crowd behaviour, which allowed us to statistically exploit it with an NT8 trading strategy.

So in a nutshell, the result of our decade-long study and research is The Remek! Momentum Pro Standalones, a powerful algorithmic software suite, programmed as an add-on to NT8, the power of which you should, as a trader, have a close look at.
